Frances and Dima – Tagtool Artists

Dmitri Berzon is a Russian born artist who studied Fine Art in London. Frances Sander was born in Scotland and was a postgraduate scholar in Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. They are both practising artists who have worked in a variety of media; Frances is a figurative painter and printmaker and Dmitri has made work using time-based media, video and photography. Dmitri is also active in the field of lighting design and makes light objects and installations.

Since 2006 they have worked together on a number of projects including small format film making, site-specific installations and large scale live improvisatory drawing performances in a variety of interior venues and on the street (often with live music) using the Tagtool. They have travelled to numerous festivals and events, staging Tagtool performances in Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Slovenia.

In January 2009 Frances established this blog to document these Tagtool projects.

Frances and Dima participated in the Illuminating York Festival, England in 2009 when they were part of the group of artists giving live Tagtool drawing performances each evening during the festival.

Tagtool drawing in Kristianstad, Sweden – two drawing performances given as part of the Barbacka Cultural Centre’s programme of events.
